Art lovers and Burlesque aficionados join forces to sketch and immortalise our models in their fascinating surroundings, showing their costumes to the last nipple tassle, in enchanting venues and with tantalizing themes. The models are selected for their beauty and talent, and pose without their luxurious costumes. There’s good music, you can sip a cocktail and enjoy a few special acts. You don’t have to be the next Picasso to join in: the Anti-Art School is open to everyone.
Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School was founded in 2005 by Molly Crabapple. Today the alternative sketching class is a world wide succes: you can go and be creative in Tokyo, Paris, Melbourne, London, Rome, Hollywood and New York.
Each edition of Dr Sketchy’s Belgium propose a different theme ; our costume collection is never ending. Since 2010, we’ve been invited by wonderful venues like Hotel Berger (Brussels), Huis Happaert (Antwerp), Redstar Line Museum (Antwerp), Zoo Antwerp, Modemuseum (Hasselt), De Hoorn (Leuven), Cocteau (Gent) and much more ; but also festivals like The Drawing Days, Devil in High Heels Burlesque Festival (Brussels) and the Gentse Feesten. We were blessed to be part of the wonderful opening of the exhibition of the photographer Bart Ramakers.
